All That Glitters
I realize the posts have been a bit heavy lately. Not that it's a bad thing. After all this little universe is my outlet. :) However, I thought it high time that I post something light...or rather sparkly. Here are a few pieces of jewelry I've been ogling as of late.
This set is PERFECTION!
Have a lovely week!

Silk Obsession
So you know how some women ahem not me included of course... go through a baby craze/obsession/addiction around 25? Though I will admit that my voice raises 100 notches into a whistle only dogs can hear when any baby is within 10 miles and I immediately start to imagine what mine will look like and all of the fun things I will teach them while simultaneously blocking out the horror stories of lack of sleep, poopy diapers, and fits as illustrated here, all my mommy friends share with me, I am not quite ready for little feet to pad around my life. HOWEVER, lately I have been obsessing about what B and my wedding will look like. Now this wouldn't be such an issue except that B has yet to pop the question and we've only been dating 9 months....details details. I do love B and cant wait to marry him someday and not have to drive back and forth the 45 miles to each others houses but I think I can wait. Therefore, we'll chalk this obsession and desire to fill all my Pinterest boards with wedding related items up to my love of style...and silk :)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Spring Cleaning
I have this horrible habit (okay I have more than one horrible habit but lets focus on one for now shall we?) of stuffing anything and everything into my purse including, but not limited to, receipts, gum wrappers, paycheck stubs, 1000s of pens, loose change, etc, etc, etc. Very rarely do I clean any of it out so by the time my purse has a few miles on it it is weighed down by the sheer amount of trash that's collected in the various pockets. Another bad habit of mine is I hate, I repeat HATE to clean out my purse. I usually end up just buying a new purse before I convince myself to just clean out the old one. Long story short....it's time for a new purse! :)
My current bag is a tan, leather, across the body bag from Fossil that I love but for my next bag I think I'd like to go with something a bit more substantial that I can throw my book, water bottle and ever growing collection of gum wrappers in.
What do you think?
Happy Friday!!!

Renewable jewels
This past week I attended a jewelry/art show that featured the boss man's wife's new collection of jewelry. Now, I can not tell you the last time I actually picked out a piece of jewelry for myself. And it has not been for lack of trying. I just cannot bring myself to spend money on something mainstream nor can I tear my wallet out of my hands to buy something I can't pair with the majority of my outfits (living in small spaces as left me overly discerning in my purchases). Luckily, I have some fantastic friends who know just my style and have kept me stocked up on some unique and versatile pieces.
I broke my non-jewelry buying stalemate to pick up this lovely little piece at the jewelry party and I have a feeling it will be one of many (I have several other pieces "renewed" by Jami Mark that I'll post pics of soon). Jami finds unique, vintage pieces, such as belt buckles, earrings, and brooches and brings them back to life in renewed, modern pieces. I LOVE her style!
The idea of renewing old, outdated pieces of jewely got me thinking of other ways to use vintage pieces. While scowering the web I found this fun DIY project that uses vintage clip on earrings as magnets. I'm totally going to try it. Genius!

Classic Beauty
Etsy is fast becoming my favorite spot for jewelry ogling. They have so many original, vintage, and classic pieces, many of which are one of a kind. I stumbled upon these delightful hoops today that I think I might just have to have. They're a fun spin on your everyday run of the mill hoop, with a slight hammered oval shape and fun swirly clasps.

I find myself always heading towards the more simple pieces even though I secretly wish I could pull off the bolder pieces like Anthropologie's In the Rough Earrings.
My best friend is Persian and wonderful and always has something deliciously exotic and edgy hanging off her ears or around her neck (often from Iran....jealous!). Though she did convince me to wear this fun and funky piece at her wedding this July. How kind is she??? Anthro bridesmaid dresses AND necklaces!

Over the Hill and Under Control
In 7.5 days I will officially step off the top of the hill (i.e. 25) and begin my slow roll down to my 30s, 40s, yikes! 50s....! I must confess I was NOT happy to reach the top of said hill and had quite a hard time dealing with the fact that I was, at least, a quarter of my way through this life. However, surprisingly, 26...not so bad. Perhaps it is because my mental state is so much better than it was a year ago. I've made an effort to find outlets for my craziness, refuse to let my genetic oversensitivity (thanks Mom!) take over, and try to remember my purpose in this life (to serve the Lord). Or perhaps I've just come to terms with the fact that I will get old and maybe, just maybe my genetics (thanks again Mom!) will hold up and I won't look like an overwashed bag of skin. Now the real question that remains is what to get myself for my bday :) A few ideas....
A quaint little 2 bed 1 bath with white washed wood floors and plenty of natural light
Maybe in my dreams... :)
